Walks from Middleton Beach
Emu Point/Ellen Cove/Albany Port
Type: Walk and cycle
Distance: 8.2kms
From Emu Point to Port Albany and with a checkpoint of Ellen Cove Boardwalk in the middle, this 8.2km journey is for those with who are after a family-friendly adventure. Whether you are on wheels or on your feet, the path along the beach allows you to take in the stunning coastal views of the western shore, in addition to the memorials and plaques that serve as a constant reminder of Albany’s rich history.
Where you begin your journey is completely up to you. All three destinations are easily accessible from Middleton Beach, due to the shared bicycle/footpath that runs uninterrupted along the shore. This pathway also provides easy access to the water; so remember your bathers!

The walking trails in this park will offer you the chance to take in these amazing beauties, in addition to providing you with the ultimate walking challenge, so get your hiking shoes ready!

Type: Walk (classified Grade 4 walk which means bush walking experience is recommended)
Distance: 6km return
Stirling Range National Park is the only major mountain range in WA’s south, and is home to unique wildlife that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet. The famous Bluff Knoll, of course, also calls the Ranges home, and is the only point in WA that has ever seen snow, so an absolute must for any mountaineer travelling through the Southwest!
